Why Do I Need Help Organizing?

“Why does it take someone to help me do what I know how to do myself?” Karen inquired. She went on to say that in the past she had to have a friend or relative come to “keep her company” while she made her home presentable for a family holiday celebration.

We often have clients tell us that they know how to organize and they can do it, but they can’t bring themselves to do the tasks involved in a timely manner.

In her book Conquering Chronic Disorganization (Squall Press, 2004) consultant and coach Judith Kolberg says

“In order to maintain organizing success, a chronically disorganized person must involve other people in the process.”

While some individuals need help with making decisions, others will need the social companionship of others to get the organizing tasks accomplished.

Who could provide the social aspect of organizing for you?
