Use a Checklist for Holiday Help

christmas-balls_istock_000007329318xsmallTo follow up on Amy’s inspiring post on Tips for a Relaxing Christmas Season, take a look at a helpful checklist for Tips to Cut Down on Holiday Stress. Here are three tips that you can use to cope with stress during the holidays or any other time of the year:

  • Schedule time to relax. Many busy people don’t make time to change their rhythm of life from time to time. Whether it is 5 minutes or 5 days, a break in routine can refresh the body, mind and spirit!
  • Learn to say NO! It is an honor to be asked to do a task by someone else. However, it is not always in our best interest to accept every opportunity that comes along,
  • Sleep well. Believe it or not, it can take hard work to get a good night’s sleep. Planning for relaxation before bedtime can contribute to a restful night’s sleep. Some individuals find journal writing to be helpful in eliminating recurring worrisome thoughts during the night.
