Have an Organized…and Relaxing Christmas Morning

Oh, the fun of Christmas morning.  The kids are so excited!! Santa has come and they finally get to open all the presents under the tree!  But in the fun, there is sometimes stress…like picking up the camera and finding that it needs batteries.  Here are a few things you can do before you go to bed on Christmas Eve that will help you be organized and have a more relaxing Christmas morning.

  • Plan a nice breakfast…but make it easy on the cook!!  You do not want to spend the whole morning in the kitchen while everyone else is playing with their fun new things.  Make an egg casserole, hash brown casserole and cinnamon rolls.  All of these can be made the night before.  In the morning, all you have to do is turn on the oven and bake.  If you don’t want casseroles then just do all your chopping and prep work on Christmas eve.
  • Make coffee.  When the kids get you up early, all you have to do is push the button to turn it on!!
  • Set the table for breakfast.
  • Have your camera ready with charged batteries.  Set it in a easy spot to grab in the morning when you’re half awake.
  • If you use a video recorder, set it up on a tripod to film the whole room.  Now, all you have to do is turn it on in the AM.  Make sure the batteries are charged.  This is nice because your hands are free to open your presents…and drink your coffee.
  • In a convenient spot, place a screwdriver, scissors, and batteries.  This is helpful for removing tags and getting all the toys running.

Christmas is a wonderful time to celebrate with your family.  Be organized so you can enjoy the moment.  Merry Christmas!
