Perfectionism Can Cause Stress

Start by determining what it is that causes your stress. Is it because you have clutter that needs to be processed?  Paper piles in your home and office?  Can’t find the rooms for the clutter on the floors.  Don’t know how to set up a filing system so you don’t know where to put the papers?  If you can identify your stressors, you can begin to change your behavior:

  • Develop a support group that you can talk to when the going gets tough. Organizing Plus has a new Clutter Support Group starting in August.
  • Eat good food, get plenty of sleep, exercise and do some deep breathing.
  • Start with small tasks as to not get overwhelmed.
  • Make it a point to avoid alcohol, tobacco and caffeine.
  • Go off for time alone or spend time enjoying a hobby – it’s a great way to take your mind off the everyday pressures we all face.

  • Lighten your load and give yourself more leisure time.
  • Take time to enjoy life and smell the flowers.
